Their unpredictable adventure unfolds through roadside stops, chance encounters with strangers, and visits to family members, seamlessly combining sharp humor, social satire, and a deeply moving human story. The result is an exhilarating yet bittersweet snapshot of Italy during its economic boom.

  Widely regarded as director Dino Risi’s masterpiece, Il sorpasso stands as one of the most influential films of the Commedia all’italiana genre. Vittorio Gassman delivers one of the finest performances of his career, earning both the David di Donatello and the Nastro d’Argento for Best Actor.

  Join us for a sparkling evening of Italian holiday cheer with our native instructor, Ileana Tamberlani! Discover the magic of Tombola—Italy’s most beloved Christmas game that has been bringing families and friends together for generations.

  Numbers and keywords will be called out in both Italian and English, making it fun and accessible for everyone. Play along while sipping Prosecco, nibbling on festive sweet treats, and savoring pandoro and panettone, the iconic cakes that light up every Italian Christmas table. And yes, there will be prizes!

  We hope you’ll join us for the Italian Cultural Center’s Holiday Celebration! We'll have food, treats, and holiday cheer, along with plenty of time to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Whether you speak Italian, English, or both, you’ll feel right at home.

  This will be our first holiday gathering in our new home in Northeast Minneapolis, and we’re excited to celebrate the season here with our community. It’s also a special opportunity to come together as we bring the Italian Cultural Center’s 20th anniversary year to a close.

  The Holiday Celebration is always a nice opportunity to get to know the ICC a little better, especially if you haven’t been to one of our events before. Come as you are, bring a friend if you’d like, and enjoy the evening with us. The friendships that have grown through the Italian Cultural Center over the years are a big part of what makes this community so special.

  This has been a wonderful year for the ICC, and we want to thank all of you for making our 20th anniversary such a great year.
