In this 10-session, 20-hour course, students will deepen their understanding of the past tenses while discussing their childhood experiences. They will learn to distinguish between the simple past (passato prossimo) and the imperfect (imperfetto) in order to express foreground and background actions, as well as repeated and habitual events in the past.

Students will also differentiate between the present tense and the present progressive (gerundio) form of verbs, and use object pronouns to refer to people, places, and things when conveying information. They will practice making, accepting, and declining invitations, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of technology. Each session includes discussion of cultural aspects of Italian life.
