Capire l'Italia is an advanced, upper-intermediate communicative course focused on the language and culture of Italy. The course is organized into five thematic units, Customs, Mass Media, Cinema, Society, and Design, which explore fundamental aspects of contemporary Italian language and culture at the turn of the millennium.
Students seeking to engage in stimulating discussions about Italy’s language and culture will work with sophisticated texts on a variety of topics related to modern Italian society. The goal of the course is to help students expand their vocabulary and improve accuracy when speaking, commenting, questioning, and expressing opinions using a wide range of advanced grammatical structures. At the same time, students will deepen their cultural competence by exploring more complex aspects of Italian history and society.
