A 10-year retrospective


This year again, the Italian Cultural Center, in partnership with the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul, is happy to bring the best of Italian cinema to the Twin Cities. 2019 is a special edition celebrating the best movies of the past 10 years of the Italian Film Festival of Minneapolis / St. Paul (IFF). The movies selected by our committee will be screened throughout the year leading up to the IFF's 11th edition, Feb. 20-23, 2020. 

Join us on Wednesday, September, 11th, 7:00 pm, for the sixth screening of this special edition with Noi e la Giulia (The Legendary Giulia and other Miracles), a shamelessly optimistic story that will leave you smiling. 

All screenings will take place on the Film Society's Screen #3 at St. Anthony Main Theater. All films are in Italian with English subtitles. Future dates and titles: Tutto quello che vuoi (Oct. 9th) and In guerra per amore (Dec. 11th).

Noi e la Giulia (The Legendary Giulia and Other Miracles)

Diego, Fausto, and Claudio are three men who can't seem to catch a break. Hoping to reserve their fortunes, our heroes meet accidentally at a country home in Campania that each hopes to turn into a Bed and Breakfast. Pooling their resources, and reluctantly taking on another "investor" (a former Communist revolutionary to whom Fausto owes money), they work and  struggle to keep their business afloat, when they run afoul of the local Mafia. Kidnapping, wine tasting, true love, and the magical Alfa Romeo of the title all combine with a winning cast and a shamelessly optimistic story that will leave you smiling. 

In Italian with English subtitles.
