The ICC's second tour organized in collaboration with the Walker Art Center, which will be spoken in Italian, and lead by Lorella Angelini, will be held on Thursday, September 4, in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden!

The Sculpture Garden tour will have a customized Italian “detective” theme. As true detectives, the group of participants will search for evidence of Italian culture in the famous Sculpture Garden.  The group will start from obvious clues, such as the sculptures of Italian artists, Marino Marini, Giacomo Manzu’ and Mario Merz, which are on permanent display in the Garden. The party will then dig deeper to find hints of presence of Italian culture in the other works of art. In doing so participants will see the highlights of the Garden, while expanding their Italian vocabulary to include words related to art and sculpture. As always, the spirit of the tour is to have a conversation about art, sharing points of view and speaking of the things we are passionate about.

The event will begin at 6 p.m., and participants will meet at the Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Avenue, in the Bazinet Lobby, located near the Vineland entrance.  Lorella will lead the tour in Italian, and the cost is $15 per person.

Lorella is a native of Pesaro, in the Marche region of Italy.  She holds a Laurea in Civil Engineering from Marche Polytechnic University.  She moved to the USA from Milan in 1998 as part of her international career in the corporate environment. As soon as she arrived in Minneapolis in 1999, having always been interested in visual art, she became a member of the Walker Art Center. In 2003 she had an opportunity to join the tour guide team.  She enjoys participating in the life of the Walker, where she has been able to nourish her passion for art, while learning teaching skills and techniques.

Space will be limited, so please register here today.  Please contact Peggy at info@theitalianculturalcenter.org with questions. Please note that this event will be conducted in Italian.

All events must be cancelled 72 hours in advance to receive a refund, less an administrative fee.
