Italy’s regional richness and diversity continues to be showcased in our series “Taste the Regions”. Each time, native experts introduce us to a different Italian region presenting its history, geography and culinary traditions in an informal and fun format.

For the third appointment of our series, we will discover Piemonte, a region in northwest Italy, where the nation was “born”.

Italian native Elisabetta Re will introduce us to the beautiful region where she herself was born and raised. She will discuss the history, the culture as well as the typical food and wines of Piemonte. We will take a virtual trip from the rugged peaks of Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso, to the damp rice paddies of Vercelli and Novara, the gentle hillsides of the Langhe and Monferrato and the plains. We will discover Torino, the first capital of modern Italy, defined by the famous architect Le Corbusier as "the city with the most beautiful natural location in the world".

You will sample traditional wines such as moscato and vermuth and delicious sweets like krumiri, paste di meliga and baci di dama.

The event will be held at the ICC on Thursday, June 4th 6:30 – 8:30 PM.

Tickets are $30 for ICC members and $40 for non-members. Please contact Peggy at info@theitalianculturalcenter.org with your questions.

Register now! Our food & wine events are very popular and we expect to sell out.

Spend an evening comparing and evaluating wines from two great wine regions of Italy, Tuscany and Piedmont.  These regions are known for their classic red wines, Barolo and Brunello and the famous grapes from which they are made; Nebbiolo and Sangiovese.  Tuscany and Piedmont also produce some very affordable, interesting and complex wines that can be found at local retail stores.

Join ICC board member, Dominic Sposeto, to taste and discuss these wonderful wines and, at the end of evening, vote for your favorite.  Tasty appetizers and wine-complementing morsels prepared by board member Giada Nucera of Epicurean Garden Catering will be served.

The event will be held at the beautiful Valcucine Showroom located in the International Market Square at 275 Market Street, Minneapolis where ample free parking is available.  The event is scheduled for Thursday, January 15th, from 6 until 9 p.m.  Cost is $50 for ICC members; $60 for non-members.

Register now: space is limited and this class will fill quickly.

Please register and remit payment here.  Contact Peggy  at info@theitalianculturalcenter.org  for additional information.

All events must be cancelled 72 hours in advance to receive a refund, less administrative fee.
