Viaggia con noi e impara l’Italiano!

In 2013, the ICC launched an exciting new service: Italian classes in Italy! Led by an experienced ICC board member, a small group of Minnesota adult students traveled to Sorrento, a coastal town in southern Italy, to study the Italian language and visit its beautiful surroundings. A group returned to Sorrento in 2014. In the fall of 2016, a third group studied in Lucca (Toscana) in September of 2017, we ventured to Cefalu, Sicily,  and in 2019, our travels led us to Reggio Emilia, in the Emilia Romagna region.

The ICC partners with well-respected language schools for non-native speakers of all levels of proficiency. A detailed 14-15 day itinerary includes Italian classes each morning, as well as an amazing selection of cultural, archeological and cooking excursions throughout the area. Also included in the package are hotel accommodations and breakfast each day.

Educational Travel 2019 --- Le Marche and Friuli-Venezia Giulia Here We Come!

We are very excited to announce that, for the first time, the ICC will offer TWO educational travel adventures in September of 2019!

The first journey, scheduled for Saturday, August 31 through September 15
, will take us to Recanati in the Marche region.
And then, from Saturday, September 21st through October 5, our group will venture to Trieste, located in beautiful Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

RECANATI is a quaint hill-top town in the Marche region in central Italy. Founded around 1150 AD from three pre-existing castles, it is the hometown of the tenor Beniamino Gigli and the poet Giacomo Leopardi, which is why the town is known as "the city of poetry". Our program includes bespoke tours and visits to towns and sites throughout Le Marche. We will visit Urbino – home of Renaissance painter Raffaello and UNESCO World Heritage site; Ascoli Piceno – founded by the Piceni, an ancient Italic population who predate the Romans; Fabriano a medieval town in the Apennines renowned for its hand-made watermark paper which began in the 13th century; Ancona – the capital of the region founded by the Greeks in 387 BC drawn to its strategic position on the Adriatic Sea.  Additional cultural, culinary and fun destinations are included in this program and complement the Italian language classes that our students will attend at l’Infinito school in Recanati.

TRIESTE: PLEASE NOTE:  The trip to Trieste has sold out. If you wish you may join the waitlist by using the Trieste link below.  is a historic jewel, located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia; a northeastern Italian region, bordering Austria, Slovenia and the Adriatic Sea.  It is home to the sharp-peaked Dolomite Mountains and vineyards producing white wine. Trieste is a thriving, capital city, which was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.  Its famous sites include the old quarter, the waterfront Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, and Castello di Miramare, a former royal residence.  In addition to our language program at Piccola Università Italiana, near the central piazza of Trieste, we will travel to historic San Daniele where we will taste the famous prosciutto di San Daniele, and to the city of Udine, where the group will  tour the city and "watch and taste" with well-known chef, Tonino Venica. We will discover UNESCO sites at Aquileia and Cividale, and we will journey into Slovenia, on the Istrian peninsula, which was once a part of Italy. Come and discover all of these things, and more, as we explore the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia!
