Summer Classes at the Italian Cultural Center are dependent on instructor availability and student desire and vary year to year.  Please see below to see what will be offered this summer at the ICC.

    ONLINE - How to refer to people and objects: Pronomi Diretti, Indiretti, Combinati 

    Join us for a two hour workshop focused on how to refer to people and objects previously mentioned by using pronomi diretti, indiretti, e combinati.  Led by our native instructor Luisa O'Gara, students will work on a series of exercises to review the rules and the pronoun's position in the sentence.  

    Prerequisite: Pre-Intermediate 2.

    This is a one time workshop, which will be held on Thursday, July 9, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.  The cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Please register and remit payment here to reserve you place in class.

    The goal of this course is for students to be able to greet others and introduce themselves, ask for information, describe their house, family, objects, and their location. Each class will provide information and discussion on cultural aspects of Italian life.

Students will also learn how to handle situations related to ordering at restaurants, shops, ask about prices, clothes, and daily activities. Each class will provide information and discussion on cultural aspects of Italian life.

    Prerequisite: completion of Beginner 1

    Learn Italian through the world of food and cuisine. Practice vocabulary, phrases, and grammar needed to understand and talk about Italian food. Become familiar with traditional Italian recipes, their origin, and idiomatic expressions to enjoy food like Italians.

    ONLINE: How To Express Opinions: Congiuntivo Presente In Musica

    Join us for a two hour workshop focused on how to express opinions by using congiuntivo. Led by our native instructor, Luisa O'Gara, students will work on the comprehension of a popular song by Giorgio Gaber, the pioneer of the Italian musical genre Teatro Canzone (song theater). Students will practice through a variety of exercises focused on the use of congiuntivo presente in comparison to its use in English.  

    Prerequisite: Pre-Intermediate 2.

    Join us for a two hour workshop focused on how to tell stories in the past. Led by our native instructor Ileana Tamberlani, students will practice how the passato prossimo is used in Italian in comparison to the use of the past tense in English.

    Join us for a two hour workshop focused on how to express yourself when describing current events and plans by reviewing verbi al presente. Led by our native instructor Ileana Tamberlani, students will practice regular/irregular, as well as modal verbs in meaningful contexts.

    ONLINE How to talk about daily routines: Verbi Riflessivi

    Join us for a two hour workshop focused on how to use verbi riflessivi. Led by our native instructor, Ileana Tamberlani, students will practice how to properly utilize these verbs through exercises related to daily activities and routines.  

    Prerequisite: Beginning Level 3.
