INSTRUCTORS
Carlo Cicala, a native of Genova was trained at the Diplomatic School of Languages in Washington D.C. Before moving to Minnesota, he has taught in the US diplomatic corps for seven years. At ICC Carlo has been teaching Beginner group classes and private lessons for students of every level since 2007.
Margherita Ghiselli, instructor for the Beginner/Intermediate Adult classes, has taught Italian to both adults and children since 2004 at the America-Italy Society of Philadelphia and at the Italian Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Raised in Milano, Margherita has a masters degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota and is currently completing a doctorate degree in Epidemiology at the same institution.
Romina Montanari, a native of Emilia Romagna, has been teaching Italian to adults extensively in the Twin Cities since 2007. Her teaching philosophy is to create a fun, intensive learning experience for students with many opportunities for interactive exercises and practice. She strives to give students a better understanding of the Italian culture coupled with practical uses of the language for travel, business and pleasure. She received her Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Modena and a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the University of California-Berkeley.
Anna Olivero, born and raised in northwestern Italy, has eight years of experience in adult education within various settings including the Italian Institute of Culture in Chicago. Since 2007 she has been a Teaching Specialist in the Italian Department at the University of Minnesota. She holds a Degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Turin. In her classes, Anna focuses on presenting various cultural aspects of current Italy.
Carmela Parisi, born and raised in Rome, holds a degree in Archaeology from the University of Rome "La sapienza". She has taught Latin and Greek in Italy for several years before moving to the US. In the United States she has taught Italian at George Washington University. Then she accepted a full time teaching position at the Foreign Service Institute, the School of Language of the Department of State. She moved to Minneapolis three years ago and after having settled her four children in the new environment is delighted to teach again at the ICC.
