Beginner Italian Courses

adult.jpgThe ICC offers five courses for begining Italian at levels 1 (two classes), 2(two classes) and 3 respectively. To view the classes with their descriptions you can choose to click on the short menu below to be taken straight to the class of your choice or you can scroll down this page to review all the beginner courses. Please note that in the latter case the classes are displayed by date and start time. The level 1 class is suitable for a complete beginner. Beginning classes are offered once per week for ten weeks. The cost of the 10-week session is $310.00 for non-members, $294.50 for members (5% discount).

    The goal of this course is for the students to be able to speak more extensively about himself/herself, his/her profession, likes and dislikes. The student will also learn how to handle situations related to ordering at restaurants, shops, ask about prices, clothes and daily activities. Overall grammatical topics: additional regular and irregular verbs; introduction to the simple past tense; usage of adjectives and pronouns. Each class will provide information and discussion on cultural aspects of Italian life.

Overall grammatical topics: present tense of regular and some irregular verbs; nouns, articles, adjective agreement; interrogative pronouns. Each class will provide information and discussion on cultural aspects of Italian life.

    The goal of this course is for the students to be able to talk about past events, to make predictions and express probability, to ask and answer questions about time, weather, locations and places. Overall grammar topics: simple past and future tenses; use of prepositions; personal pronouns; impersonal subjects. Each class will provide information and discussion on cultural aspects of Italian life.
